Project Information

Comparing the use of GPS enabled tracking devices and hand‑written diaries in plotting the movements of young people

Dates: January 2013, ongoing
Reaserch Team: Dr Stephen Roulston (lead), Dr Ulf Hansson

The project involved twelve school pupils (Lower and Upper 6th) recording their movements for a week, using both a tracking device and a traditional diary. The perceptions of the young people with regards to the ease of use and accuracy of each method were compared in focus group sessions. It is anticipated that the results will be written up as a journal article.
